Christ, the True Gift of Christmas (Printed Version)
This printed lesson shows children the story of the first Christmas through the eyes of Santa Claus/St. Nicholas, reinforcing the pro-life message through the life of St. Nicholas and reminding them that Christmas is about God’s greatest gift to us—His Son Jesus.
Christmas is one of the most pro-life feasts of the year because it reminds us that God came into the world as a lowly, weak, vulnerable, and tiny baby. Using the picture book Santa’s Secret Story by Cornelia Mary Bilinsky, students explore the life of St. Nicholas of Myra and his good works for others in need.
Through his work to help the most vulnerable, St. Nicholas shows us how to care for the less fortunate members of our society. Like St. Nicholas, we must learn how to build a culture of life without looking for a reward or earthly recognition.
Use this lesson to supplement a religion or art course. Recommended for kindergarten and up.
